Was looking at my tank last night, and noticed a dime-sized starfish in my tank...must have been in a rock when I purchased it, but I have had all my rock for about 3 weeks, never seen it before.

Anyway, it's a white/tan color, with pink and blue/green spots on top.

Anyone know if this is a threat or not?

I know some starfish eat soft corals, and they obviously eat (or at least crawl on) plants, as this one was stuck to the stalk of my Shaving Brush plant. I picked it off and stuck it on a rock, and it scurried away.

I `m going to move this to our identification forum. It will get better attention there. I pic sure would help us better. Good Luck

I agree, a pic is almost necessary with your description. Did it have long thin legs? Short stalky ones? Small brittlestars are common hitchhikers and if I had to give a guess, that would be it.
