Hard to tell what that is, and if it's algae covering it or coral flesh. Gotta give it time to see if it amounts to anything.

I'm thinking perhaps I made the wrong choice in buying LR that had these growths on them not knowing what they are.... I guess you live an learn.

Okay thank you for your help one last question if you don't mind I need to get a new test kit I was using the API one and never could get a good reading... didn't like it. So just curious if you had one that you would recommend I don't really have the money to buy the top-of-the-line but if there's one that is economical yet practical...

I wouldn't pull it out. It's surprising what corals can recover from.

Salifert is a good brand. Just buy one kit at a time. I suggest the alkalinity kit first.
