It still looks like a male to me, his pattern may just be changing a little due to his mood. It is weird that he seems to be displaying a bit of a vertical band, maybe it is some trait that the more yellow panduro show, I can't say for sure, mine have always been blue. With the length of the ventral fins and the blue caudal it has to be a male. Welcome to the world of not so tampered with apisto species

I just googled images of panduro and they are ridiculously variable in color and pattern, more so than I thought. If you do the same it may calm you a bit lol.

It's def a male, there's just so much going on with the moods and colorations.. my lfs has a book of apistos with all the different moods. I'm going to see if I can borrow it..

I have 1 that I focus on to keep nice but I haven't refilled my co2 in a couple months so it is starting to look like the other tanks and I really don't want my fissidens farm going down the tubes

Hehe, as soon as I get it going again and the moss cleaned up I will gladly send you some it tends to take over in my tank lol. Can you possibly get a pic of the cac? Is it on the lower lip area or below the lip?

He's doing great! They've seemed.to.have paired off.. the swim together a bit.. she does a little shimmy showing at her cave door.. it's cool.. he has turned on Lil man though.. he hides in a rock pile all.the time now.. I'm going to get him moved later after work..

If so it'd be ok to leave them in there with the rents for a while? My fry tank is occupied for a little while.. the male cac is ok, chinple was gone the next day but he's still kind of hanging on the bottom, i added some new root pellets that may have the water a little funky for his liking, he's tough as nails though, survived 2 cycles..I'm going to up wc's to 50% every 5 days for the next couple weeks too..
