Hello there. I have been doing research on homemade aquariums and it seems pretty easy and definitely cheaper than buying a new tank. I am wanting to do this and I'm confident I can pull it off. Has anyone ever done it? Any tips that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

Everything I've read says that a custom tanks are more expensive than new unless you are doing an unusual shape or size.

I built a tank for £350 on glass, plus silicone and bricks. On paper it is 1020 litres about 270 us gallons, that type of tank for sale is four figures for the tank alone. Depends how much you get to pay for the glass?

It is much cheaper to go DIY.

Yes. Not to mention that where I live it's hard to find large tanks. I have to custom order them and it comes out really expensive.
