Finally my 10G FWT and soon 10G SWT

Hey guys.

I finally got my 10G fresh water tank up and running. My plants are growing healthy. The second pic shows my homemade CO2 bottle. I put it into a basket because it looked ugly with just the bottle next to my tank. Soon there will be a saltwater nano tank below my freshwater tank. I'm just getting the cycle ready. My husband is very proud of me and I thank all guys on aquariumadvice.com. I will post more pics on my nano saltwater tank in the near future.

Plants look great. I like that tank. What is the fish and plant stock list?

I have 4 ghost shrimps, 2 red tail tetra's, chinese algae eater and white looking catfish (i don't know the name). I just bought the plants that were either low to medium lighting. I'll investigate the plants and post them later.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the chinese algae eater(CAE) will have to go. He will outgrow that 10g tank with ease, and as they age they become more aggressive.

A dwarf pleco(clown, bristlenose, and some others) or a small group of otocinclus would be ideal in a 10g tank.

Actually I wouldn't recommend a dwarf pleco either. I know that BN's get to be 4". That would take up half the bioload of a little 10g.

The CAE will not only out-grow your tank (at 10") it is extremely aggressive and will bite/suck/chew your other fish as it gets bigger and won't really eat algae (not that you'll have much with CO2 injection). http://www.aquariumadvice.com/articl...eri/Page1.html

Otos would be ok. Here's a good article on otos: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/articl...tus/Page1.html
