Good morning :)

Going on the general idea of 3 watts per gallon for a planted tank, I can't find a CF or even twin tube T5 that meets the watt requirement. There are a few LED lights out there that would fit the tank but are these compatible with a freshwater planted or are the lights too much? I am looking at a 20g but will eventually have a 40 gallon. The basic 24", even in a double T5 HO, only adds up to 48 watts.

For teh LED, I am looking at the Marineland Double Bright LED Lighting System.

48 watts of HO T5 on a 20 gallon will be oodles of light. You could always add a second fixture when you up grade to a 40 gallon.
