Need advice :)

Hey guys I just ordered a light set up for my tank as I'm going to try planted I want to use just plain sand with some liquid fertilisers and stuff is that okay I do t want to do a co2 set up because I'm restricted for room ATM now I need help with what I should buy and my stock of plants also another problem I'm going to be doing the tank with a black shark in there just to see how it goes I know it is advised against but he is my favourite fish and this is only his temporary home till I finish making his new one what plants will be good that can have be buried in the sand deep I have khuli loaches to so they might dig

The substrate you use should depend on the type of plants you want to get. Some are heavy root feeders so a planted tank substrate like eco-complete should be used, others are not. Check out this website just to get an idea of beginner-esque plants:

Also, try and use complete sentences man! It's hard to understand that!
