My central air conditioning has been out for over a week now and maybe coincidently or not.... my once thriving banana plant has been "melting" away. The room temps peaked at around 84 deg F on the hotter days last week, thus the tank was as hot. Some of the "bananas" have completely melted away and a few are barely hanging in. I also noticed a few of my "baby" java fern nearly totally browned out.
So, I had to clean up some of this mess and hopefully the A/C tech. will fix it today.
Could this have been caused by the 84 deg F room temps? I did nothing different in my routine ... I was just surprised by this as I started my weekly partial water change and general maintenance. My banana plant was thriving and it's only been a couple of months.
