separating anubias nana

My anubias nana has a "baby" and as I am setting up a new tank I would like to separate it but I have no idea how to go about that. Here are some pictures of the off chute

Yes, you can. I never gave mine the opportunity to shoot off like that. I always just cut the rhizome in half when it gets about 10 leaves on it.
 
What about java fern? I have one of those that has 3 different rhizomes, do I just cut them apart?
