Hi everyone,

Went to my LFS and purchased 3 Melini Cory. When I arrived home there were 3 Melini Cory and this little guy.

He's about 2 inches, and very curious....he/she even posed and winked for the picture.

Love this little dude.

Thanks in advance.

I need to look up a few to give you a better guess. Off the top of my head, I say schwartzi or black spotted. Ill reseach a couple.

He looks awesome! Nice photos too (you must have a nice camera)! :)

Your melanistius Cory

Hello fish...

Your Cory in the pic is a Corydoras melanistius REGAN. Also called a Black Spotted Catfish. Melanistius means "black dorsal".

They grow to about 2.5 inches. I have a number of different kinds, they're great community fish.

A very nice Cory!

I just had Encyclopedia of tropical exotic fishes opened at this page when I read your post. What a coincidence. I am not a specialist but this one from your picture looks exactly the same as one from the book. It is corydoras leucomelas aka Leopard Cory Catfish. This encyclopedia was written by Glen S. Axelrod and he is rather right!

WOW! Perfect match!

Thanks everyone! I went back to the store to try and purchase more, but they had none & never ordered any. Pretty freaky, but a great little fish.
