Just checking in from Missouri to say hello. Just picked up a tank 135gal and looking forward to getting back into fresh water aquariums. Pretty sure I'm going with tropical but I may go Missouri Native species. I just filled it last night so I have more hardware to buy and conditioning to do.

Welcome to AA! That is a nice size tank. A Missouri native tank sounds interesting. No shortage of colorful daces, shiners, darters, and killifish. I did a search on MO native tanks and found TedsFishRoom; looks like a great resource.

There are plenty of variety for sure. Some are protected but I'm sure a store would have that sorted out.

I had something in another thread but here's a start. I'll find and post in the correct section after this post. The painted ones are the first coat of Portland mixed with acrylic instead of water.
