Gravel vaccuuming

I got a simple cheap small gravel vacuum from Petsmart and don't seem to be able to get the manual pump going... Just ME I think... HELPPP! lol

Does it have a flapper where the cone part meets the tubing?

Yeah that happens to mine when the flap/door isn't closed on it. If it's open the suction doesn't start

Flapper? It has the tube, the piece connecting tubing to plastic chamber, the chamber that slides inside other chamber and a plastic piece on outside of two sliding chambers..: I don't see anything that can close or anything?

If it doesn't gross you out. Then you could suck on the tube to get it going. Just keep the end lower than the big chamber part. Don't drink any however

Then inside that thing that I circled LOL. Should be a plastic door flap thing that is supposed to be closed.

Now if you have one with a pump that's different, can you put a picture or find it on the internet like the one you have

Yup, with all the gadgets and widgets out there, this is still the best no-problems way to start a gravel vac.
