Rena Filstar XP3 or XP2 Canister Filter

I have a 75 gal new not set up taking time to do it right..

is it better to go with the xp3 which is more than i need or just do the xp2 which is made for my tank

i want DEMAND very clear water..

I am willing to buy a skimmer if needed

sorry.. if its going to be a reef tank.. I would skip on the canister all together and get a better skimmer..
as far as fish only systems go.. bigger would be better.. but you might consider your other alternitives over canister filtration.. HTH
