sump / skimmer

Is a 10 gallon sump enough to handle a 75 gallon FOWLR? Also is CA vortex a decent skimmer

Moved to General Hardware and equipment discussion. I had a ten gallon on a 55 gallon tank. Not sure about a 75 gallon tank.

A 10 g will work, but a 20 long will work much better. The flow thru a 10g will be pretty high.
Not sure which skimmer you are talking about, but if it's those Turbo Vortex skimmers on Ebay with the CA pumps, save your money.

I have a 20g long under my 72 Bow tank and it seem to work fine I think the 10 gallon would have to much flow through it

I bought a sump and it came with one of those skimmers and I thought it has been doing a pretty good job.
Of course I'm still new at this and may not know if its doing a good job or not, but it does produce a nice greenish, light tea color and foams nicely.
