25 gal freshwater

here is my first tank i set up 14 months ago

running a aqua pro sp 3 external canister filter
a fluval 3 + internal filter
my stock
1 pleco
1 red tail black shark
1 honey gourami
1 platty
4 minows / not mountain clouds
1 cherry barb
1 stripped barb
5 banded barb
2 male guppies
4 female guppies
2 cory's 1 peppered 1 bronze

tank is lightly planted
2 rock hides for the shark and pleco
piece of bogwood 10inch length
water 0ppm ammonia 0ppm nitrite 10ppm nitrate 7.0 ph
feeding flake and brime shrimp and sinking pellets alternativley
the red tailed black shark is only terrortorial towards the stripped barb and 5 banded barb when they come near his rock/cave hide
he is very well behaved towards all the rest of my stock even at feeding time
the guppies breed like wild fire
i keep all the fry in another tank

Looks good, I would just say keep up on your water changes cuz that's pretty stocked. Nice plants too.

its been hard work and without you guys on here i dont think i would of had so few problems you always give excellent advice
i did end up stocking to that level as circumstances beyond my control
i took some fish from someone who was going to just flush them
ive got another tank almost cycled so a few will go into there to lighten the bioload
i do 1/3rd water change every week
i got lots of water agitation and oxygen in water the canister and the fluval spraybars are angled so it give a rainy effect on water surface and also a small stone in a dead spot
i check water parimeters daily since the stock level went up
but apart from a mini cycle 2 months back
all readings are constant now at what i posted
at the min i am undecided which of these fish to put into other tank guppies deffo and perhaps the minows
plants are doing ok lots of new growth no algae problems
12 hours of light aday
only using a 25watt 10.000k tropical sunlight tube

Very nice, yeah I saved some white skirts from the toilet too. You should look into some smaller pieces of drift wood. They add some nice depth to the tank. Just a thought though.

i shall look around for some driftwood only types i see regular is this new mopani wood all the lfs are stocking lately
