DIY light bar color dilemma please help!

Im in need of some opinions everyone!!! I just built this light bar for my 45g angel tank but kind of in a rut. I want to stain and varnish it although the tank stand is really old and i do not think i am remotely gonna come close to matching the two colors. Im sry its kinda a bad pic i took last night so the lighting is horrible ill try to repost a better one in the morning. Anyways the TANK itself is a dark brown which will be a lot easier to match. Should i play it safe and just stain it dark brown or would dark brown look hideous!

I'd say the darker the better.
More importantly, is the structural integrity of the tank stand in good standing🐛

Yea it seems to be its been up and going for a few months now.

Thats what i came up with and i really like the how it took the stain....unfortunately i dont like the stand now so im thinking a new stand build is in my near future lol
