Hello, we have a 120 gal saltwater reef with a 75 gal prediator tank attached to a 75gal sump. Have been into saltwater for 3 years now. We have upgraded from a 75 gal reef with a 50 gal sump.

Sump that both tanks are running off is drilled, (though holes arnt being used) 7f gal, holding approx 50 water, with 3 compartments one being the refuge, second being holding rock and pumps for return and reactors, and third being the overflow from both tanks with skimmer

We currently have 10 three foot t5 white bulbs, (5 on eachside) they are 12k. 60w bulbs. With vertex blue LEDs (4 foot) as lighting
Flow is Medium to High, mostly medium with 2-1400 fans

The 120gal tank is custom build by my boyrfriend. Its basicly a 180 cut down, 6feet x 2foot x 18 inches high. Along with both stands hand built by my boyfriend. :)

We keep out Salinity at 1.025-1.028, Temp at 77.5. We run a Reef Keeper Elite. Vertex180 Insump Protein Skimmer, Bio Pellet Reactor and Carbon+GFO Reactor. Its an overflow setup. With pumps of 396 and 1056 returning to both tanks.

Also a refuge with macroalgae growing and Miracle Mud... The tank is filled with bug life :) We have our lighing times for Whites (12pm-9pm) blues (11am-11pm) with refuge set for (9p-12pm) (opposite)

Liverock- 200+lbs (120+sump) 50lbs (75gal)

Very nice!! I like the way they're set up together! :)

Thanks we arnt even done yet, maybe upgrading pred tank to 180... and we deff getting more coral and fish... :)

Plus haveing them set up together in one sump, is easyier as its more water flowing and more life and we are able to have both side (reef and preds) and easy for maintance :) a bonus

Any suggestions for coral and fish? We plan to have a wide variety of coral and fish for the setup in the future but need to do more work to the system before then and needs to age some more..

Is a reef tank ever really finished? Can always fit in another coral. Lol. I would do a foxface in the 75, might not do great with the yellow tang since they're both yellow. Love foxfaces, planning on one when I upgrade to 125g. :)

Odd that you say the yellow tang being in the 75 (currently she in in the 120 and has been) but we do plan to catch and move her to the 75 tank being smaller. Considering she can never get along with another tang, she has killed 2. We plan to switch the purple tang outta the 75 to the 120 and match her up with another tang, not a sailfin of course, considering its a bigger tank :)

And as for the foxface, we do plan to get a majestic foxface, being darker, its should be okay, and we would have more rock and caves, in fish in there to counter out...

Hey everyone!!!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know we added some new additions to our PRED tank....

4 (about 3-4inch) Eel Gobys !! :) also known as Engineer Goby or Goby Eel..

They all have different patterns and I love it, they are schooling and living great together in the pred tank, the trigger doesnt like it so much but isnt doing any damage and should settle out, and seeming to get used to them and it seems it will be fine. :)

New!!!

Pred tank now has a large beautiful glass tube anemone.

Reef (we took out our yeelow sponge to add to seahorse tank, and moving the carnation coral and mushrooms from seahorse tank to reef) We also added 2 gobys; the bicolour and tail spot that we had for our seahorse tank, in hopes they would get along better in a bigger environment.

We also got new purple green mushrooms, and a large green mulit coloured brain coral, and a new large green BTA ! :)

Also a pair of Blue Dragon Gobys (datrfish) , they where wild caught so are taking a bit to settle in.

Pics soon :)

Sadly only 3 of our goby eels survived as one was sick when we got them :(
But the 3 out of 4 are doing great :)
