Baby mollies

I have some white baby mollies in a baby tank. They need to be in there because my other fish will eat them. The tank has filtration slits in the side so every time I put baby fish food in the tank it leaks out. What should I do?

Turn off filter/filters when feeding then turn back on when done .

You could put netting over the filter
