Black Tetras

Would it be possible to breed black skirt tetras in my shrimp tank? I'm worried about the tetras eating the shrimp/shrimplets. The shrimp tank is a 55 gallon filled near halfway.

I think your concern is justified. Black skirts aren't particularly aggressive, but they're big enough to see shrimp as tasty snacks.

Would using a divider be a workaround for this?

I'm not sure. I've never had any experience of dividers.
