GUppy cross breed effects.

If a fancy guppy and a feeder mix, will the offspring be infertile? nad it there anything bad about a cross breed?

i dont think so. i just think that it will be worth less when and if you sell the babies back to the store.

I did it before, it made a smaller less pretty fancy guppy. Nothing spectacular. And they are essentially the same fish, just different breeding. Kinda like a wolf and a dog.

I have bought some cross breeds before and I love them. SO I have main;y feeders because of the price. and I am getting a few fancies to fancy up the tails. THe bodies of feeders is the part I like with that nice fancy tail, thank you for the info.

OK, firstly, they are the same species, but fancies have been selectively bred for colour and size. Now, breed only wild-type males to the fancy females, because if you breed large fancy males to any but the very largest wild-type females, the babies may be too large for the female to sucessfully gestate.
