Is there a way to not have our fish breed?

I only have a 10 gallon tank, and I cannot afford to have a ton of fish right now. I would love to have my fish breed eventually when I have larger tanks, but for now I would like to know is there a way to not have the fish breed? Obviously you can't force nature, but I don't know what I would do if my fish bred and my tank became overcrowded. I plan on getting 5 cherry barbs and 4 Scarlet Badis, but I don't know if there is a way I can get more males than females and not have trouble, or have all females and not have trouble. Thanks

I don't think you'll have a problem with those fish breeding. They are egg layers and require certain conditions to breed and the fry require special foods and such to survive.

Yes, it is very hard to keep fry alive without doing anything special.
