Here's the link to my previous thread about this tank from set up to now.
http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f12/restarting-my-old-tank-for-my-betta-248339.html

So yesterday my betta Dracula passed away, we were very sad he was a beautiful sweet boy.
Anyway I ended up moving my 14 guppy juvies from my 41g to his tank with the 3 Pygmy corys. I am going to separate the sexes when I can tell them apart between the two tanks so no more babies!
Anyway with my current stock of the young guppies and 3 pygmys ( will up them to 6)I was wondering if I could add a pair of peacock gudgeons?
Or any other suggestions are welcome ? I just think the peacocks are beautiful and I'm wanting something different that would do well in this setup ?

This is the tank now

i would say with the 14 guppys and 6 corys you would be fully stocked.

Yeah with all of the guppys I wouldn't add anything but I am going to he separating them when they can be visibly sexed since there still babies. So that will bring my guppy numbers down a bit

well if you can bring the number to at least 8 or less, then a pair of peacocks would work nicely im sure

What are your thoughts ? Their just so beautiful but I'm not sure what would work better.

I just purchased some play sand today to switch to. It's apparently pre washed so hopefully it's not to hard to rinse.

Sorry, that came across really bluntly didn't it? I just did sand for the first time and washed it forever and still ended up having to do a 90+% wc from it the next day

Nope it was fine didn't take it that way at all. I appreciate the input

I'm assuming this tank would be too small for a trio of cockatoo cichlids? 1m 2f. Just double checking I really love them but if I can't that give ill stock with the peacock gudgeons

I don't like trios in any tank size. A pair would be fine. Don't know anything about peacock gudgeons though.

I like the cockatoos Better but don't want it to be in a tank too small. They are harem breeders though that's wry I said 3. But of one nice make would be ok in a 17.5 with guppy juvies and 3 pygmy cory and 5 ottos.

I think 2 would be fine with that stocking.
