If I found the complete aquaclear filters on ebay you can too :).

Anyways, it doesn't matter. You can use a number of different filters for that tank.

Tetra Whisper 10i Internal Aquarium Power Filter | eBay

Try one of these ^. Less than 10 pounds. Don't run it stock. Bad setup. Rip out everything it comes with and fill it with foam. Aquaclear foam or any spongey foam made for filter media would be fine.

Thinking of getting this -

If we've gone over it once we've gone over it a thousand times.

Buy a 5 gal setup in parts. You can probably do it with heater for about 80 pound. That shrimp tank you posted has no heater.

i have had just about enough of your attitude, UK is different to to US wether it is prices or personality and people, i am not going scrolling back 10 pages to find a post, and 5 gallon set up, well still need to know what tank is ideal, and in parts? IMO i think that Fluval Ebi is good and i can do fluval ebi (7 gallon) for £80 as well, i can get a 50 watt submersible heater, thank you very much for your help and i am grateful but I am a new comer to tropical fish and dont know what to do, so just cut me a little slack!

After I invest about 17 pages into your thread, you're going to tell me I have an attitude? I told you exactly what parts to get for a 5 gallon set up a page or two ago.

I have no attitude with you. I think if you asked somebody else to read this thread, they would agree. I found it frustrating that you asked me what parts to get for a 5 gal after I had already posted what parts to get for a 5 gal. Whether it's 1 page back or 8 pages back, it's nicer on your part to go back and look than it is to ask again. That's just forum etiquette.

If you get the 7 gallon Fluval Ebi and a 50 watt heater that will make for a nice little setup, but it's going to run you about 85 pounds. That only leaves you enough cash to buy 15 shrimp and no decorations. I figured you could put together your own 5 gallon from parts (and get a better filter than what the ebi comes with in the process) for cheaper than 85 pounds. Maybe 80. That's still a savings of 5 pound, and you'd have a better filter in the custom setup. That's all.

In the end, I'm just here trying to help you, the new person, out with his tank.

It was frustrating for me when you switched from a 55 to a 30 back to a 55 to now a 7 gallon. I'm trying to help but I felt like I didn't know what I was supposed to help with. Overall, I've been nothing but nice to you. I think if you re-read the entire thread you will see that.

BTW I'm not in the US I'm in Canada. And you'd be surprised at how similar people are when you get right down to it, regardless of where you go.

i was clear, i am doing a 7 gallon tank now to start off with and upgrade then next year, so i buy a plain 15gallon? my LFS does one for £25 also the filter a HOB aqua clear mini (Hagen) i am going to start off with 10 shrimp, hopefully they'll survive, don't want to buy 30 then to die, remember breeding as well, and drift wood i can find and plants cheap

NEW Marina Style 5 Glass Aquarium Kit - 5 Gallons | eBay

38 pounds + 8 pounds shipping. So 46 pounds. 5 gal, better light options than the Fluval Ebi, decent filter.

You can add enough gravel for the tank for about 4 pounds and the heater for about 15 pounds costing you 65 pounds for the complete setup! Then you have 35 pounds for decorations and shrimp.

Just change that light bulb it comes with out for a CFL bulb (should be about 2 to 3 pounds. Or you may already have some at home)

Well, thank you! whats up with the bulb that comes with it?

Ok they have the aquaclear mini? Why not just buy a 5 gallon bare tank, aquaclear mini, incandescant hood, little 50w heater? Have you priced that out yet?

How about the setup I found on ebay in my last post? Did you look at it?

Won't grow squat with that bulb. Squat.

^Use one of these.

I will need CO2 because i want to aquascape with nice plants

you got me mistaken i was just clarifying that was the filter

Co2 is a big expense. You can use one of the cheaper kits where you add the powder into the chamber and it produces co2. I forget how much they cost.

If you want to grow with co2, you would be best with a dual bulb setup on that 5 gal. See if they have the little incandescant hoods with space for 2 bulbs, and use those CFL bulbs I told you about. Highest wattage that fits.

i search ebay for those hoods and like random kitchen hoods come up, that sounds cool! unfortunately that tank ships to US addresses only,

Well back to square 1 then.

The problem with the Fluval Ebi is the lighting is weak. You couldn't grow plants with co2 with that lighting.

Answer this for me- does your pet shop that you're going to sell a 5 gallon starter kit of some sort?

Do they sell 5 gallon tanks at all? Do they sell hoods for 5 gallon tanks?

how about find -

5 gallon bare tank
filter you said
prime 50 ml
heater
driftwood
live plants
co2 thing you said
digital thermometer
RCS
