Woo I'll give it a try mebbid.

Btw your display pic. The fin on the side of your betta looks like a frogs leg. Keeps tripping me out

Hahah that's funny, I've never looked at him that way before :)

You'll have to let us know how it goes!

I've been considering a redo on my 40b for a little bit now. I've been really considering a 3d background and then either going back to the black diamond blasting sand or keep the PFS but adding in a sand waterfall into the mix. What do you guys think?

A sand water fall would look really cool imo. Black Diamond blasting sand and maybe blue sand for a water fall. Could also do a "river" with the blue if you use flimsy cutting boards to separate it. Just some things to throw around.

I don't see a frog at all????????????
Do I need to smoke some of the weed pots to see it??

I got sick of the substrarr always kickingbup dirt and debris in my tank so yesterday i took a study break and completely redid the tank. I gotta refill my co2 tank today and i think im gonna get an angel again. The plants will be put in after thats done.

I finally got the plants in and picked up a new aquaclear 70 filter for only $20 to put on this tank.

But here is the new current layout.

What does bdbs mean?

And yes, your memory is correct. It was a 55g. Fun fact, i used the same substrate that i pulled out of my 55g in this tank :D

So it should be chock full of nutrients. I also put down a few small handfulls of my root tab mix before adding the substrate. So hopefully plants should take off rather quickly.

I would be more than happy to take some plants off your hands... I have a ton of crypts and aponogetons that could easily go in my 20g. How much do you want for them?

Looks good mebbid! I did a similar thing in my 10 with some osmocote. Just mixed it in. Haven't had to put more tabs in ages.

Finished my last exam today! Now I will finally have the time to invest into my tanks that they deserve.

On that note, I think I am going to switch back to EI dosing on my planted tank now that I don't have to worry about missing weekly water changes on it.

Here's an update on how the tank is doing. This freaking aponogeton is growing out of control! :D Although, some of its new leaves aren't the healthiest looking. Even though I put down a layer of my root tab mix under this substrate I think it might be a bit too much of a resource hog. I will have to add 3 or 4 more root tabs around it just to make sure. Overall, there's not as much growth as I was hoping for but with the CO2 snafu that's not surprising.

The rest of the plants are growing in nicely, although not as well as I would have hoped. I had an issue with my CO2 as my bubble checker blew out. It was showing bubbles were being injected and since I had my intake feeding directly into my canister, I had no idea that it wasn't going into my tank.. especially because I ran out of drop checker fluid :D It was like a perfect storm of everything going wrong! but I got it fixed now. I got an extra intake tube with my Aquaclear and there's a bar at the bottom that, when cut out makes a perfect fit for an air line. So I put my CO2 into there instead.

As you can see I got some BBA growth to take care of today. It's a lot worse on my rotala sadly.

Lastly, my Ludwigia repens is finally coloring up!

Blech, my Red tailed shark has apparently gone off the deep end. It spent the entire day chasing all my other fish around relentlessly. I expected some aggression but not this bad. It's sad because this is one of the fish I've wanted for something like 15 years now.

Maybe try a log cave for him. When I had one it loved hanging out in a fake hollow log
