vid time. SO to TT for the Downoi, I'll be doing more SO's in the future for everyone that I have received plants or fish from

Givin the pogo a trim right after I post this and will have an updated FTS in an hour or two

Thanks for not cursing when it came to the Pogo stellatus (Octopus). Who on Earth would bestow such a wicked weed into thee? ?
Just curious...might there be a correlation between the rampant growth of the pogo octopus and the incidence of hair algae? Is it possible that the extra plant biomass is consuming more nutrients than what is being provided, leaving a nutrient deficit and the algae is simply being opportunistic? ? Hmmm...

I assume the rapid growth of the pogo would deter algae a lil due to its fast use of nutrients. Maybe not though. Plants still have my number.

I'm thinking the opposite. Pogo sucks up all of the nutrients, Rotala starves and becomes algae bait. Simply speaking, of course.

I like the plant, if only it could grow at a slowet rate.
Never thought of that before, I assumed it was from the light being to high. We shall see in a week when the pogo is back to kissing the surface.

Fresh, you might be on to something. The issues I'm seeing are similar, but I think my nutrient hog is Blyxa.

Wrangler, have you done any water tests recently for nitrate and maybe phosphate? How do they compare?

Female rammy doesn't like it, but I'm diggin it. The jungle broke up the line of sight with the male, I'm noticing more chasing now than when things where overgrown.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Looks like I might have ram eggs tomorrow or maybe the day after! They are guarding a spot behind the blyxa, both tubes are out but not fully out, and the female is fat!

I got rammy eggs!! She laid yesterday and the male was guarding today, unfortunately they laid on the gravel so I couldn't pull the eggs but it doesn't look like any are fertilized. Figured since I'm only using 50/50 water, maybe I'll try and breed them but I don't see myself doing that.

Correction this is my last post for a while. 3 hours and the teeth come out.
Note to those who run rodi overnight, NEVER change something with the unit. I added a watersaver upgrade to mine, ran it for 11 hours, and woke up to a flooded kitchen! Thankfully my dad didn't wake up sooner because I just finished cleaning the mess up. :nono::nono:
I'm going to try and do a water change after my surgery...come on pain killers!
