    55G Saltwater Tank Setup

I have a beautiful 55 gallon rimless tank I'm going to be upgrading to from my 29G tank. There are some things I've been considering. I am thinking I'd probably like to go with a sump but I'm definitely not drilling the tank. So I think I'm going to go with the CPR brand for the overflow box...

    Diamond Watchman Goby

Mine sifts sand all the time. Swims or perches himself higher up on the rocks when he's on the lookout.

    Alyxandria's 75G Reef Tank

So we have all the plumbing. I couldn't find gate valves locally so we will be going with ball valves on the overflows instead. We sat around trying to decide if we should plumb it by drilling holes through the stand but decided that instead we are going to just redo how we have the stand...

    Alyxandria's 75G Reef Tank

Nope lol! That's about it. It's got a bit more than that stock photo has, probe holders, and a salt shield but nothing really special. I'll get a picture of it this evening. My boyfriend saw it for sale and wanted it so I surprised him and bought it.

    Alyxandria's 75G Reef Tank

I know! The sump has really kicked our butts into gear on getting this tank set up. It's too incredible looking to just be sitting there lol! I believe so. This is our first time plumbing so we went with the glass-holes overflow because it had everything including instructions! I've read that...

    Alyxandria's 75G Reef Tank

Okay so this build is finally happening and we are super excited about it! My boyfriend and I have been waiting almost a year to get this up and we are finally in the (almost - fingers crossed for tomorrow) plumbing stage! Here's the specs: - 75G Tank - 2x 165W LED Dimmable Lights - Glass...

    New coral

I moved it the day after I had just brought a box of corals home from a flight and had gotten in at 1am so just dropped everything in there after acclimating (and snapping a few photos lol) and went to bed lol. And by hardy the sponge survived being covered in Dino algae and hair algae and...

    New coral

It's a tree sponge. Hasn't really grown since I got it but things are only just starting to grow now in my system. Haven't really found a nice spot for it either. Pretty hardy. Can't be exposed to water or it'll die. http://m.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+527+577&pcatid=577

    Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp

Not at all. I put my hands in and my peppermint shrimp give me a manicure and last I checked I don't have any parasites. :)

    New coral

For the sand bed I really like my elegance coral. It's overpowering a few things in this picture as I had nowhere for it to go until I moved things around but they're pretty gorgeous. I also just love my orange plate coral. Neat sand bed touch. Sits right beside my clam which is also pretty...

What brand and type of testing kits do you prefer?

Lol, I'm not "wrong". I wouldn't go phrasing it like that as we are all offering opinions here. I find that the API are just not as accurate as other kits. It's a preference for me to use something more precise. I use API for my freshwater but when it comes to saltwater I like exact parameters...
