Is insufficient firterlization one possible reason for the outbreak of an algae bloom (green water)? The reason I ask is because it sorta seems like if there is a lack of nutrients, well the algae wouldn't have nutrients either.... but maybe algae doesn't need as many as the plants??

so... I'm going to slow my CO2 rate and increase my KH buffer. What is your preferred method of increasing KH?

Unfortunately no, I don't have a PH controller. This is my 38 gallon (which I like to call 40) tank. I can't say for sure the number of bubbles per second. Maybe 7 - 12 bubs/sec. I wasn't sure what to go for so I just guessed. Is the 7 deg KH low then?

Last night I turned on my pressurized CO2 system for the first time and within an hour I had almost killed my Kribs. It turned out that I had a drastic drop in PH. From 7.2 to less then 6.0 (I don't have a test that goes below 6.0 but after 50% water change and the rest of my PH stabilizer...

czcz... what's the problem with the white cloudy water? I had some white cloudy water for a week or more and then it just went away. I just kept my regular water changes and that's all... but what was making the white cloudy water? I forget.

Haha... yeah I was starting to think something like that might be the case. You guys were right it turned out. I googled welding supply company and found a place called AirGases that didn't seem surprised when I called about CO2 tanks. For a 10 lb tank refill it costs $16. Good price?

I'm sure these questions have been asked before, but I couldn't find them on the search.... 1.) Where do you go to fill empty CO2 bottles? 2.) Where can you find T connectors and tubing for CO2? I can honestly say that I've never run into these products and services in my day-to-day life...

I did C when I went to Japan for two weeks. My plants hurt bad. It took me awhile to get the plants healthy again. Also, I grew a new kind of algae I hadn't seen before that is still hanging around. But... at least as a worst case scenario it's not so bad. Your plants won't completely...

I am going to plant my 10 gallon and I've been wanting to get a new filter for awhile now. Right now I have a mini hang on back regular filter. It seems like a canister would be overkill on a 10 gallon and I think I don't want a bio-wheel since that would release carbon dioxide from the tank...
