I had the same problem with my 10 gallon and I noticed that it only happened when it was hot inside my house and cold outside because my tank was near a door. Maybe there is a temperature problem that could be solved by moving yoru tank. I could be WAY off here but its just a suggestion :)...

Well, I went to my LFS and got my water tested and lo and behold the tank IS actually cycled! I guess the test kits I had were not that great. That could also explain why I lost my blue dwarf gourami about a week after I put my new fish in my tank. The tests didn't show any ammonia spike but...

African dwarf frogs are fun and easy to care for. I had two in my first tank. They can be little nippy IMO though so I wouldn't put them with small fish. I like fake plants myself and in terms of fish I like tetras because they look neat when the school. Good luck!

There are orange dwarf gouramis too that might be closer to a nemo looking fish :) I had a blue dwarf gourami that was really pretty as well. It was kind of shy around my tetras though and hid quite alot. Pearl gouramis are not as colourful but they are shiny. Good luck!

I want to get some new fish so I can increase the bio load in my 55 gal tank and get it to cycle (hopefully!). I really don't know what to get that will go well with my other fish. I have 2 pearl gouramis and 4 popsicle tetras. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! goldylox

I found my ADFs nipped at some of my other fish. They really didn't get on well with the loach that I had. I don't know if that is common though. Also when any of my fish died, the immediately started eating it 8O It was a bit gory.
