Thank you for your help. I would assume that if they had parasites they would have a little bit of a distended belly. Monos are very slender silver fish and show anything that goes into them or is in them. Ill check out the site. THANKS!!!

Started with 7 now down to three. They sure are sensitive little guys. Think I should worry about internal parasites? I just went through an ick treatment (salt heat method) Ive never had so many fish problems. That is the last time I get fish shipped to me. I'll let the LFS deal with this and...
All of my plants have gone through a bit of a shock or recession period after being transfered. Plants die slowly and come back slowly. Patience is a virtue with them. trying to do too much at once to save some plants has always gotten me into trouble. ie adding too much nutrients to the water...
Its deffinatley not poop, it belongs on the inside of the fish (young mono argentus)
any idea on how this may have happened/caused/remedies for this?
Ive never seen a fish do this.
Reptiles yes fish....nope!
Yes but most are often traded in fresh water especially as juveniles. Most LFS dont have brackish set ups, and I purchased these from a freshwater cichlid guy on ebay (go figure) who happened to have 7 of them for cheap. All of the brackish fish Ive seen for sale have been in freshwater tanks...
I always have a bucket of RO water around. My dad uses it for his african ciclids (he adds a specifically made ciclid mineral and trace element suppliment) and I use half RO water and half tap water for my brackish and goldfish tanks. My tap water is nearly chlorine free (it doesnt even read on...
Im starting to think I should join a brackish interest forum because Im only reading stuff about goldfish in here, does anyone know of any good brackish forums? Im sure they exist. Its really hard to find advice about this stuff online. I dont like making my own educated guesses about this...
So i was recently stupid enough not to quarantine 6 small mono argentus. I just acclimated them over the course of 3 hours. Yes ich happened. (i could kick myself) My question is, since it is essentially freshwater they came from, would putting them in the brackish tank work like the heat salt...
I could do that too. I think if i remove the media trays (not the mechanical side) from one filter, i could probably just pack it with the old bio balls for a while. atleast a few handfulls of them. Ive had all the ceramic media i plan on using in the sump about 3 weeks now. Im going for it next...
I thought about running the fluvals but its just going to create way too much current unless I put the input in the overflow box i guess. It would make for hard feeding times too. Way too much plugging and unplugging. I think you're right I think I will be ok. I have so much rock and wood and...
The only problem im having with doing something like that is the new tank has to go where the current one stands. as far as trying to set the new one up to cycle while the current one still houses the fish, it would make it impossible to move. Im kind of just looking for reassurance that there...
