    Boesmani vs. Parkinsoni

Have you been looking at my tanks? I have 6 Boesmani and 3 of the smaller Praecox in my 55... I have yet to add bottom dwellers, but they are coming.

    Boesmani vs. Parkinsoni

My research came up w/ one thing to be sure of... Lots of swimming room. They are very active like danios, although slightly less zippy. Mine are voracious eaters of everything. Frozen bloodworms seem to the fave.

    Boesmani vs. Parkinsoni

I keep a mix of Boesmani and Praecox, and so far the Boesmani have been extremely hardy- no losses at all... The Pracox unfortunately not so much.

    Balloon GBRs

I was cruising the LFS yesterday and ran across a tank full of what were listed as Lyretail Balloon GBRs. Has anyone seen these? Are they just a natural mutation, or did they come from the Isle of Dr Morneau? They had the typical GBR coloration, but their bodies were very round(almost coins...

New setup - Tank cycle log - 1 month update

IME you could add Golden Nuggets to the list of anti-social carni plecos. If the L-66 acts like my GN, don't expect him to be any use in algae cleanup :P Mine spends most of his time chillin under a stump, then cruises around a lil before lights out, and occasionally chases the cories away...

    Ammonia in tap water???

Having measurable ammonia in tap water is not that uncommon. A well cycled tank should make short work of any ammonia introduced w/ a water change though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Fish Foods

I really like the Hikari foods. :D As a base, I use the Hikari Micro Wafers instead of flakes. They are very easy to judge how much is eaten, my fish all seem to like it, and they seem to hit all levels of the water. I use both the Wardley Algae tabs and the Hikari Sinking Wafers for my...

    Question about Seashells

How would alkaline water react? I'm perusing my new tank options, and I have some beautiful shells that have been hiding in a cabinet... my water usually sits at a pH around 8.0 I think they would make nice, natural looking decorations... but I'm nervous about adding them to a tank...

Question about Panda Cories - aka am I overstocked?

I just added panda cories to my tank... these guys are just little bundles of energy- always moving and bouncing over each other  I am very happy w/ them. I have read that cories school to species, if thats true they won't be joining your julii's... I don't have that on personal...
