Do fish lips grow back? I had a set back this summer with the fish tank. The neons got a fungus. I've lost 6 so far. Poor water quality. Lost a bunch of fish. Everything seems to be on track again except the neons. Some have lost their lips. :eek:

Well, it took care of it's self. Mrs snail is no longer with us.:(

About 2 months ago my mystery snail started laying on the bottom and not moving. It opens its shell, closes its shell. 2 weeks ago it started going up the sides of the tank again. Now its on the bottom again. I have no idea what is going on. The other one is fine and has even grown since the...

They have freshwater salt. That's what I use.

I found eggs today! Have to wait and see what happens. :invasion:

Thanks for the info Nigel. I know I have a male for sure. I have seen them doing some "funny stuff " . Thought they might be cleaning each others shells, got a feeling there is a lot more to it. :whistle: Will find out if I find eggs.

How do you know what sex they are?

How big do mystery snails get? Got two a few months ago, their getting pretty big. about half dollar size. Their pretty cool. :flowers:

Thanks Hensleyjk. Watertown is about 20 miles or so. Have to look into that. I'll also try spreading it thin and turning the hose on what I have. about 40#. I still need about 35#. :thanks:

I read the thread about the black blasting sand. I don't know where there is a tractor supply place around here. Looked in the yellow pages, no luck:( Guess my used sand wasn't such a good deal after all :facepalm: Another life leason learned.

I bought a bucket of used black sand. Not used long. I put some in a bucket and have been running water through it. It has this dusty stuff rinsing out of it. Will it ever run clear? Seem like a lota water for the amount of sand I am rinsing. :ermm:

What do I need to do to clean the sand. Its around 40 pounds worth, in a bucket. It was use a couple of months. Also, a med. to lg piece of driftwood. What do I need to do to it :confused: I don't think 40 pds is going to be enough so I'll have to get some more. When I get more sand do I run...

I like the veil tail angles. They are really showy. Pearl scale angles I find to beautiful, although I can't seem to find any. Have you seen the blue angles? I have only seen pictures. You are going to wind up with one angle down the road. They all think they should be the boss. Totally upset...

A few weeks back someone told how they froze cucumber. I'd like to try freezing it but don't remember how they did it. Such a waste to get this big cucumber and waste a good amount. Any ideas? Thanks :smilecolros:

I bought a piece of driftwood for my pleco. About 10'' BY 3", flat. Have it soaking in water, with a weight to hold it down. Been 3 days now. Still pops up, right away. Have no idea what kinda wood it is. Got it from a lfs. Is there difference in wood for aquariums vs reptiles?:fish1:

I have 2 hugh angles and I added a group of neons not to long ago. The tank is well planted. I made sure the were bigger neons. They're doing great together. I once long ago took in some bleeding heart tetras and those darned things started eating the neons.:(

Nice tank! From what I've leaned about sand is that the "yuck" stuff stays on the top of the sand.So clean just above the sand and it should all suck up the tube. I've been thinking of switching my gravel to something different. Glad to see yours.:thumb:
