Cleaning After Buffing Out Haze & Scratches?

Wait, was this on a glass aquarium? I see that it is plastic polish, just don't know if it works on glass as I have never heard of it and I have a tank that is VERY hazy (Not even acid would clear it up) and would love to try another product!

    anybody here run shellies?

LOL, my multi's are completely the opposite. Very fun to watch, they spawn ALL THE TIME (nice to trade for other fish stuff), they are always all over the place and rearrange the sand in my tank making it look really cool. I plan on setting up a 125g and they will be the main thing in the tank...

Cleaning the glass on a "old" aquarium

Muriatic acid is the weapon as of now. I have done a trial application and it has removed some of the foggyness. The stuff is sold in hardware stores in the plumbing section or paint area--IT IS VERY VERY STRONG!!!!!. MAKE SURE YOU ARE OUTSIDE!!!!!!!! Try to get some wind at your back too. This...

Cleaning the glass on a "old" aquarium

I have tried viniger, lemon juice and a "CLR" type stuff to no avail. Also tried Ajax (Abrasive) cleaner and a scrub pad but it wont come off :-(

Cleaning the glass on a "old" aquarium

Hi, I traded some fry for a 30 gallon breeder tank and I cannot get the glass clear. It has a "film" on each side of the glass an no matter how hard I scrub or use a razor it won't come off. Is there any special "Cure All" to get glass clear? Help would be appreciated, because without it, I will...

Dang ICH is in my tank.....

I upped the temp in my tank to 85 and left it there for 2 weeks. Huge algae explosion that I still can't recover from but the ICH is very much dead and my fish is happy again.

Sponge filter for QT; water to use in QT?

http://petsolutions.com/category.asp?c=23 There are also types that are in plastic containers that fit into corners. I hear they work pretty good.

    Too much light?

the plan was to have plants but the last time I bought one it didn't fare too well. It also introduced ICH into my tank (Either it was the plant or live brine shrimp--Can't be for sure) so I haven't tried plants after that. I will have to try plants again I guess.

    Too much light?

I have a 5.5g for my betta and it is just filling up with green algae. I have 2 10 watt CF 65k bulbs over it and am wondering if that is just too much. The tank has been running for 9 months or so, AC200 for filtration.

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

Yeah, it was definitly just slate on the bottom (Was able to look into the drilled hole). Cool little tanks though, my multi's would have been so happy :-)

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

Well even though the tank is the perfect size for what I need upon closer inspection, the cement bonding the tanks were really dried out and I don't want to waste the money working on a tank that could be "dying" :-) Now, to try to find a tank that is a 2 foot cube and only 12" high

    Calling all Betta owners

my betta is living in a 5.5g with an AC200 on full force and he is doing fine. There is actually a lot of calm for him and he does seem to like to go around in the downdraft of the outflow. I might have a freak of a betta though :-)

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

I just called the place that was selling the tanks and they did say that it was some sort of composite sealant. You know your stuff Fruitbat! For 15.90 a piece, hopefully I can bargain a little bit, do you think that it is worth buying? If I do I will need to build a stand and hood for it, I...

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

WOW, tar eh? Do you know if that was something that was done on all slate bottom tanks? I have been falling in love with the shape because I know my shellie's would appreciate double the floor space, but I don't want to buy a time bomb or just something that will not be worth my time. Would any...

    Will cheese hurt fish?

Yeah, but fishers aren't really looking out for the fish other than finding the good ones to eat :-) (I know people catch and release btw, just joking around)

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

Just to clear up the leakers, they were not cracked, errrrrr well the ones that I was looking at a little bit were not. It seems like the silicone just wasn't good at spots. I would never buy a cracked tank but there was a sold sign on a 75g or so bow that was sold so I guess people do. A crack...

What kind of filtration system do I have??

I agree, It sounds like an overflow with the tubes of poly-filter stuff for mechanical only. Could have been a reef tank so the rocks would have been the bio filter or maybe there are bio-balls deeper into the overflow area. Who knows though.

Slate bottom aquariums and "Leaker" tanks?

Hi, I was at one of my LFS today and saw some interesting things. First off was a 29 gallon tank that was 12x24x24 that was drilled and had a slate bottom. Does anyone know what these would be used for? I was thinking that it could make a cool shell dweller tank since mine use 1/2 of my 20 tall...
