I just bought 4 Angelicus loaches, having seen them at Petsmart for $20 I then happened to see them at Walmart for $6. I hate myself for buying fish from Walmart, but they are doing well so far and a saving of over $50 is not to be sniffed at.

I would definetly go with the pond! A pleco is going to be fine in almost any Floridian pond, and if you give it about a month and preferably introduce him when the water temperature is as high as possible he will not be stressed by the change and will have plenty of time to acclimate to cooler...

Ahh sorry, normal comes with tank bulb, no CO2, all levels optimum etc. Its a 55 with relatively high stocking of fish, and quite heavily planted, I know it shouldn't really work but all my swords have flourished...Just these furry leaf edges....

That might well be the case I know I had some gold ribbon previously which died....That is the one complaint I have that these plants do not give adequate info on the packageing. Truth to tell the packageing actually looks like it was knocked out in some guys basement, not the normal proffesion...

I am thinking of picking upa Fluval 404 for $100, from my local Petsmart, on sale. This would be for my community 55 gallon which is currently running 2 Emperor 400's. Would this be overkill? Should I perhaps consider temporarily retireing one of the 400's and getting the Fluval? $100...

How about some form of Tetra, I would recommend Flame Tetras as they are hardy cheap and gorgeous, and Ghost Shrimp for clean up crew. I love watching Ghost Shrimp they are so comical, they will not reproduce in your tank, and they only cost about 30 cents each. Also if you wanted some more...

To be honest I think you could have quite a few more fish, amybe even twice as many Neons and still be understocked, the 1" of fish per gallon rule is rubbish when it comes to small tetras IMO. Unless of course gravel vaccing is going to be a problem with it beimng heavily planted or something.
