    Brian's ADA 60P (17g) Rimless - Journal

Wow Brian! You have the AR mini looking as good as I have ever seen it. It is no small feat. As usual with you, all your plants and scaping shows your artistic talent. It's good that artists like you give us "not so inclined" a standard to try and emulate. Beautiful! Congrats....OS.

    Frozen food

I would open it enough to smell. If it just smells like raw seafood it should be ok to refreeze. If it smells rotten I would bin it. OS.

    FresH2O's 20g planted rescape

Good Morning David, Hope you are well. I still just LOVE that sweet 20 of yours! Try keeping your NO3 at least 10ppm with PO4 at 3-5ppm with 3hr on, 3 hr off and 3 hr on light schedule. Also I found you have to keep the drop checker going to full lime green to have enough CO2 to fight the...

    Good Idea or Bad Idea

Diatoms IMO are worse and SO common when you have new substrate. As the substrate ages and leeches most of its silicates and other mysteries, the diatoms go away. I agree with your frustration though, the stuff is UGLY! Keep up with weekly WC's to help remove as much silicates as you can while...

    Confused about bulbs

Flourescent bulbs' power is determine by there length. Standard 18" bulbs will all be 15w. There are higher output bulbs such as T5NO or T5HO but they have to have there own special fixtures. The T8 stands for 1/8" diameter increments. ie. A T8 is 8/8ths or 1" diameter. A T5 is 5/8ths of an inch...

    FresH2O's 20g planted rescape

I was surprised how much the Amm. Bonsaii reacted when I added pressurized CO2. The stuff got bigger leaves and grew much faster. My AR mini really improved only slightly. I found some iron rich root tabs helped the AR mini most. I still have the old leaf algae problem with it though. OS

    Cardinal Tetra Tank Help

Cardinal tetras stay small. Based on a tank with no other fish in it, IMO, 1 cardinal for each 1.5 gal. is a safe stocking level. OS.

    Need help from my homies....

Hey Rodeo, I think "Fatman" would be a better name. lol A lot to say for a low and slow tank. Kinda nice not to have to trim plants once a week. OS.

    Sk3lly's Tank Progression

Thanks guys! Hope to be on more often as my strength improves. I rescaped my 29g to a low/medium light anudia & crypts tank with mostly livebearers. Much easier for me to keep maintained. Absolutely NO algae! Yea! I'll post a thread on it soon. Hope all of you are doing well. Later, OS.

    What disease killed him?

So sorry for your Cory troubles. I'm no Cory expert but my theory is nitrate poisoning from crappy maintained tanks at the LFS. Corys are pretty hardy little guys so it took some really bad conditions to do them in. OS.

    Metricide questions

You know, I wonder if some of my algae issues could be because I'm growing less total plant mass with the high light set up. Most of the plants I'm using are pretty slow growing. AR "mini, didiplis diandra, Amania bonsai, Crypt parva and a Vesuvius sword. I'm going to add some Hygrophilia...

Brookster's new new new dual sat+ build - bml pg. 78

It's got me too! I guess I'm a long way from being a pro! I'm also having MAJOR algae issues. I've tried everything I know to do. Ever since I did the rescape, I have fought algae. GSA, GDA, BBA & Blue-Green Algae are in my 29g. The low tech 16g is perfectly algae free. Me thinks a low tech...

Dialysis is kicking me tail fin. Mostly don't feel like even sitting at the computer. They say I'll get more used to it after 6 to 8 months. Ha! Let's hope so. OS.
