To be honest I just drop them in a net over a bucket after floating the bag for 45 min. Never had a dead or shocked fish.

the fungus grew like crazy on my new drift. I just rinsed mine off in hot water and threw it in a bucket of treated water to soak for 10 mins. Then added it back. It will go away permanently soon. I used Malaysian drift.

try the youtube link. It sounds like its taking in air, but all it sealed. I don't know what going on. It was fine before I moved my tank. Now it doesn't prime when its empty, I have to fill it myself and it flows but makes a weird noise.
