I figured I was testing wrong when nitrates were at zero but same test kit used with fl cycle it read them correctly. Anyway I thought it was done so last week got my Betta and tested all week showing all zeros for each test. Then read to hard tap the nitrate bottle #2 then shake vigorously 30 seconds . So with this said I did that extra action then the shaking my nitrates were above 80ppm. I did a 50% water change and later will see if it comes down and might need another PWC to help it. I also left everything off lights etc. It seems to de stress her. So I do need advise to make sure this doesn't cause any future problems. I feel so bad I screwed up all I worked so hard to do before I even brought her home. Or maybe nitrates started moving up and I didn't catch it.
