This poor tank needs some work... and trimming!

That sucks. Was the whole plant covered in algae? Tank looks really nice.

Yeah, it literaly looked like a black hairy sword rather than an amazon sword. Everything else is fine, just a few little spots with some hair algae, but it's slowly going away. I'm trying a split photo-period on this tank. It worked for me when I did my first low tech tank, so I'm hoping it'll help me here. I'm running the lights 4 on, 4 off, 4 on, 12 off.

Looks good Jon. I think a nice tall piece of DW would look great in there.

All our avatars look so similar, haha

I've got that 3' long piece in there getting waterlogged.. it's still a floater ATM though. Once it sinks for good, I plan on doing some very cool stuff.

I just bought entirely too many fish. My LFS is going out of business as the owner got accepted in to med school. Because of that, he offered me a package deal I just couldn't refuse. I haven't counted for sure, but in the mix, but not limited to these, are:

Rainbows- Bosemani, Turqoiuse, Praecox, Millenium, Emerald, and Parkisoni
Tetra- Columbian, serpae
Pearl Danios
Barbs- Rosey, Spanner T, and Black Ruby
Fire Rasbora
Clown Loach

There are well over 40 fish here. I plan to sell some, but he just had to move them today. I paid about $2 a fish if there are 40, but I'm guessing its less since it looks more like 50+... he also tossed in 2 sponge filters, a nice piece of driftwood, and a new container of NLS Grow

If you're selling the rainbows I'll take them. If you have a lot, I'll just get the bosemani :)

It was all or none.. and I had been eying some of the rainbows for a while. I fully plan on rehoming over half these fish... but even if I gave away all but the rainbows, I got a killer deal. There are 3 proven breeding pairs (millenium, praecox, and parkisoni)

Yeah, no kidding. He has a 300g that I would love to have, but I just dont have the space for it. Not to mention its a 7' tank with center overflows... wouldn't work so well for plants (too tall, and half the middle is taken). He was selling tanks for $1/g and I almost bought another 40 breeder... but I knew I needed to focus on the tanks I have ATM. I am just glad I don't have my african tank up... he was selling peacocks for unheard of prices. He ended up selling all of his cichlids for $600, including 13 frontosa that are monsters, and about 50 tropheus, peacocks, and a few other random africans.
