12gal Hex

Ok, so I came across a 12gal hex on a facebook yardsale site for $20. Includes gravel, 2 nets, light, tank, and 2 fake plants. Picking it up tomorrow for $15 Now here is my question... I was planning on upgrading the Betta to it, but saw on another thread someone said Bettas prefer shallow tanks to taller tanks. Should I stick Mr. B in there or come up with another plan for the tank?

He will be fine in the 12 gal. Or you could do a school of neons or something like that

Don't neon tetras need more swimming space like side to side.

Yeah, I wouldn't add neons into the tank. I don't think they'd school very well in a circular motion like the hex would make.
