folks,
Newbie here moving from CO2 injected FW planted to SW nano. Looking at the Oceanic 14g biocube. I understand there are some upgrades/modifications to the biocube that should be done. Can anyone let me know what they are? I understand remove stock pump and upgrade to MJ 900? remove bioballs? lengthen intake slots? (dremel?) Put Marineland 50w heater in filter? Any good place in long island, NY for live rock?
Any help is appreciated!! Thanks

I had a biocube 14g before I upgraded to a 100 then 200g reef tank. I managed to take my hood off and put a 150w halide on top, also the pump on is decent so you may not have to change it out. But for sure get a different heater, and swap out the bio balls it comes with for crushed or rubble live rock. Once the tank cycles get a protein skimmer and you should be set

Hope this helps

thanks for the advice!! 14gal--its a start! Just bought it--now for mods and set up!
