My friend is going to sell me a tank that has been lightly used for $10. It is either a 15 or 20 gallon he isn't sure...I'm excited, but also overwhelmed. What do you think I should stock it with?
My first idea (totally random) was to do like a dark light or black light hood and make it a "cave tank" with some cave tetra, a crayfish and a few snails.
I already have a 2.5g planted tank and a 5.5 grow out tank for all of my plants. I also have a 10g ACF setup, which takes minimal care. I love my ACF!
Any cool ideas? I also have an empty 10g that I don't know what to do with. Any ideas with that would be greatly appreciated too!

If I get another 10g I'm doing a puffer tank, they're pretty awesome! Killifish are great! If you go with the crayfish idea do CPOs! They're dwarf orange crayfish. I think I have an entire list of fish that'd be good for tanks of those sizes, let me go look and good luck!

So here's the list:
1. Scarlet Badis (Dario dario)
2. Dwarf Puffer (Carinotetraodon travancoricus)
3. Clown Killifish (Epiplatys annulatus)
4. Lyretail Killifish ( Aphyosemion australe)
5. Mexican Dwarf Orange Crayfish (Cambarellus patzcuarensis)
6. Betta(s)~ Maybe go for a wild kind. That'd be fun
7. Rainbow Darter (Etheostoma caeruleum)~ I could find these around me!
8. Bee Shrimp/Crystal Red Shrimp/Any Neocaridina
9. Bumblebee Gobies (Brachygobius doriae)
10. A gecko/anole/frog/toad... There's a lot here!
11. African Dwarf Frogs (Hymenochirus boettgeri)
12. Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margarutatus)
13. Sparkling Gouramis (Trichopsis pumilus)
14. Try going saltwater
15. Some kind of pencil fish...
16. Espei Rasboras (Trigonostigma espei)
17. Harlequin Rasboras (Rasbora heteromorpha)
18. Pygmy/Dwarf/Tiny Corydoras (Corydoras pygmaeus, Corydoras Habrosus, Corydora Hastatus)
19. Least Killifish (Heterandria formosa)
20. Fiddler Crabs ((peri)sesarma bidens)
21. Threadfin Rainbows
22. Pygmy Sunfish

That sounds like a cool setup for the 15 or 20 gallon tank. For the 10 gallon betta tank easy to take care of I would do a stock of

1 m betta
6 neon or 8 ember tetras
10 ghost shrimp some will get picked off by the betta probably.

Or you could do a livebearer and frog tank.

2 male guppies 4 females or all males if you don't want fry
2 African dwarf frogs
10 ghost shrimp

I have that exact setup except I have all male guppies and I love it.

Haha wow! That's a long list. But actually the "crayfish" are red lobsters...or freshwater lobsters. They only reach 3" :)

They should do even better than normal crayfish with that smaller size

That's what I was hoping for :) I am really hoping that the tank is 20g so I have more options to stock with!
Any other ideas??
