2.5 Reef

I have been inspired to build and maintain a 2.5gal reef.

So far the tank is all set up (mostly). It is currently cycling as well.

Plans for Stocking:

Fish: None

Coral:
SPS-
Going to try a Seriatopora (Birdsnest)
An Acro either a Millepora or the ORA Red Planet
Some kind of Montipora as well

LPS-
Open Brain Coral
Acan Lord or Echinata

Soft-
Some Zoas
Ricordia

We shall see where this goes from here.

Filter (as of now is a Aquaclear 30) Soon will be a custom made Aquaclear 50.

Heater is an unknown Marineland 25w. Soon to be a Hydor Theo 25w.

Lighting is currently a blue led strip I had lying around. Soon it will be an Ecoxotic Panorama Pro Led light.

No powerheads. I may get one depending on the flow from the Aquaclear 50.

Day 1: (1/6/12)

Ammonia- 4ppm

Day 2:

Ammonia- 2ppm

Nitrite->5ppm

Nitrate- 10ppm

Day 3:

Ammonia- .5ppm

Nitrite- 2ppm

Nitrate- 40ppm

Day 4: (today 1/10/12)

Ammonia- 0

Nitrite- 0

Nitrate- 10ppm

I would dose the ammonia a few more days to make sure you are good to go. That seems awfully quick. How did the NitrAte go down? Did you do a water change?

I introduced some bb from a product I bought and followed the instructions. Only top offs

AC50 Fuge is done and it came out very nice

Stand drilled and light installed.

Aquaclear 50 fuge rebuilt and modified for increased flow into the main chamber.

Phosphate- 0.1 ppm

Alk- 9.8 dKH
