So on Tuesday I picked a fully set up 25 gallon aquarium(24X12X16). The tank came with:
Equipment:
2 750 hydor koralias
HOT Magnum canister filter
2 Bulb T5(48w) Fixture
30lb sand
30lb Live rock

Livestock:
3 Sgt. Major Damsels
1 Blue Damsel
1 Domino Damsel
1 Orange Clownfish
1 Black Clownfish
1 Sally Lightfoot Crab
1 Emerald Crab
1 Arrow Crab
5-10 hermits and snails
1 Tiny Starfish I found yesterday

Corals:
Condy Anemone
Toadstool Leather Mushroom
Colt Tree
Some Polyps

So on Wednesday the orange clownfish died :( And Wednesday night I was watching the fish and noticed tons of tiny little spots all over the fish, which i thought was ick, but today i was talking to a fellow reefer and he said it wasn't ick.

So I'm pretty sure my fish have some sort of disease....
My nitrates are incredibly high right now, and I'm lowering it with 20% water changes.

The set up came with some strontium, and some other chemicals that I've been dosing a little of now.

Saltwater is surprisingly easy, just a lot more time consuming than freshwater, at least at first..

Don't dose anything your not testing for and don't be mistaken it's not rocket science but far from easy. Any aggression with the fish that you have plenty of damsels there

You have ich. Its probably because your fish are stressed because your tank is overstocked and the damsels are agressive and atticking your other fish

Agreed!

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I am way overstocked. But if the tank didn't have ich for the last 6 months that the previous owner didn't really add anything to the tank, how is it possible that I have it now?

Also, spots on the fish are like needlepoint sized

These fish are so cheap I might as well just give them away and let the tank run with just inverts for a month or 2

Well I guess one little win I've had is the starfish I have is a sand sifting star :)

Wow, so today I went down to check on the tank, and I found the lifeless body of my sally light foot crab :(

But I just checked on the tank, and I found it picking junk off a rock as usual! I'm guessing it molted lol. :D

Saltwater is a lot harder than freshwater for sure. There are so many things to keep track of, and there is so much more life and diversity. I'm pretty sure i found a tiny bristleworm or two just a minute ago :p

So things have drastically changed since I last posted. This is a pic of the tank right after the lights turned on this morning.

I have a lot of bristle worms I love when I see them :)

I hate bristle worms. I've watched bristle worms eat shrimp and one time a bristle worm even ate my brain coral because I wasn't able to feed the tank for a few days so he couldn't scavenge anything. Sticking with less deadly scavengers is better.

Holy moley that thing is huge! I think I need to check my tank cause I had so corals slowly disappear except it might have just been from bad upkeep/ parameters...

You never know, , I don't trust bristle worms or hermit crabs. Btw , I finally got my sand to settle started cycling my 25 today

Hermits are fine as long as they are small. But bristle worms no way man those are like signing contracts with the devil
