My son has been begging for a turtle for his 11th birthday. I am not a big fan, as I know I will most likely end up taking care of it. I looked into turtles, and most require a huge tank. My 11 year old is not getting my 125 gallon... but it looks like a mud turtle doesn't get as big, and there are videos of them in a tank with a few fish on youtube. I have a few extra filters - including a fluval 306 I am not currently using. I could be convinced to get him a 40B or a 55. Does anyone have a 3 striped mud turtle? Can you share your experiences?
