30 gallon light help

Yes it is a decent light for SPS I like it because it has t5's and you can change the color with the bulbs I would probably run one special blue and a purple in it.
 
Yeah all the name brand mh lights re really expensive unfortunately that one is only like 160
 
I know it's more, but on a 30 gallon I would look at LEDs to reduce the heating the tank will experience, especially using MH.
 
I tried looking at LEDs which would be awesome but I don't really know anything about them could you post se links or any help would be good lol also will LEDs grow sps? Thanks
 
There are a ton of posts on this forum, many from me.
Short answer is that the proper types of LEDs grow corals splendidly.
Little heat, very long life with little PAR rolloff, much lower energy bills and safer than MH. They are also more environmentally friendly as they contain no toxic material. And now that the price is plummeting the LED is the light of choice. Add up the costs of the fixture, bulb replacement and electrical costs to get a full picture.
