Just added a digital water meter. It's cool because I can just pump old water out of the system down the drain and know exactly what I have drained. Then using it the other way I can add new water and get it just right. Made things much simpler as I exchange 40 gallons at a time.

Thanks! I live where the Missouri Tigers play and their colors are black and gold, so I have renamed the species "Missouri tigerous".

They are getting real chummy. An appearance of both of them being so polite at feeding time is rare.

Blue jaw trigger in fore ground looks bigger than he is.

They are pigs that will steal the food and hide it in their burrows. Have to watch them like a hawk at feeding time. They didn't get big by accident!

Well, I'm starting the design of a new tank that will be built when I build my new house out on our farm. It will be a 1000 gallon hexagonal tank with a pillar reef in the center. I like my 3 sided 300 gallon tank but want to go round. I don't like the optical distortion or the cleaning issues with a cylindrical tank. So I will use acrylic and build it to have 8 sides. About 30" deep. I like the fact that with a tank this size and round, I will never worry about tangs again. Will use a combination of controllable sunlight tubes and LEDs to light the reef. The rest will be amplifications of systems I have used for years. Hope to live long enough to get it done. ;-) I will be buying airline tickets for volunteers when I move everything from the 300 to the 1000...

1000 gallons? wow

Wow, I'm feeling the love. Maybe it's lust for free beer. Now all I have to do is build a house to hold the fish tank.
I would be honored to have all of you come.

I think he'd need more than a 1000 gal tank for all the beer we'd consume if we arrived on scene...

If your concerned my new tank will not hold your recycled beer, then we have a new thing here in Missouri. It's called a flush toilet. I know it's radical, but it's better than piddling in the fish tank... ;-). By the way, I think we figured out your hair algae problem.
