Aquarium Advice Freak
I am in the market for a 55 gallon tank, having not really found anything on craigslist or similiar places, I am looking at a new kit. This will house my freshwater tropical community, and the current 29 will likely be turned into either a brackish, or salt fowlr tank. My questions are as follows:
1) is the marineland kit a good setup, or would you recommend a different setup? If you recommend a different setup, please explain.
2) I have an AC50 filter already working in conjunction with my AC30 on the 29, can I move that over to the 55 with few problems? would you recommend running the kit filter along side the AC50, or junking it? I do intend to upgrade to a canister filter for the larger tank.
3) what are the dimensions on a 55 gallon tank, I need to know to know if it will fit on my current table or not. I have roughly 4 inches on each side of the 29 gallon.
3) In regards to lighting, I know the marineland kit comes with 2 flourescent strips, would that be enough light for a tropical non planted tank? I have 3 great khuli's, 2 pleco's, 2 bleeding heart tetra's, 2 black skirt tetra's, 4 mickey platy's, 1 silver with red tail platy, 1 baby guppy, 1 baby black mollie, and 3 black mollies.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Bear
