A cool discovery (pics)

well, i am stocking my 50gal, so i went to the LFS. They has some good sales on. I bought some "lemon tetras" 5 for 5bucks. Brought them home, and they didnt match up with lemon tetra pics on the internet. I did a little research and they looked alot like head and tailight tetras, except the didnt have the "headlight". Well today i stumbled upon this: http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_silvertip.php info while resear ching some other possible additions. Turn out i have silver tip tetras, which i have never heard about until now, they are very nice fish, and very beutiful. One is bright red in colour and the rest of silvery. Heres a pic

So, the LFS played the old "misidentified tetra" trick on you eh? That is a pretty cool looking fish, I love tetras with black stripes for some reason, all of mine have them in one form or another. Looks like a great addition for you.

yeah, i think they are very pretty. Especially the one that is bright red, i think it is the dominant one.

Anybody know how common these fish are?

Fairly common around here. I've seen them a few times at my LFS.
