Acans secreting white stringy stuff

I was moving the rock the acans were on around the tank as I had bought more corals. There was turbulence in the tank water, a bit more than with powerheads. And I noticed my acans had these white stringy stuff coming out from the edges. What's that stuff? Why do they do that?

Some corals will produce a mucus/slime coating when could stressed.

Moving a coral can cause stress.
