For that small number of filters, a Hagen 802 might be enough (I run 4 off mine), or the Hagen Maxima. I prefer the Maxima to the Optima because it has 2 outlets, even though the internals are the same as the Optima.

You could manage maybe 6 sponge filters off of an Optima or Maxima...nothing even close to 45.

Based on specs, I would say that you can expect at least 4-5 filters off of each output (so 32-40 minimum), and quite possibly the 6-7 per output you are looking for (48-56).

Well, sold online from someone that probably has almost zero overhead....and the product is made in China (which usually costs less), and nor being a major/advertised brand, its manufacture/wholesale is likely a lot less than many other brands.....even still, were that same pump to be on retail sale at a LFS, you would likely be paying at least $100 for it. Personally, when it comes to the bigger pumps, I prefer the piston sort anyways....a bit more spendy, but worth it.
