Air tube on powerhead ?

75 FOWLER- how long is it recommended to leave the air tube on my aquaclear powerhead ?

I use a power head on my freshwater and thought ur supposed to leave the tube in always for gas exchange, on a saltwater only difference would be some extra salt creep if you do, personal choice really if ya didn't have a full hood I'd leave it in or just accept some creep and have a healthier tank

I have had it on the lowest air setting and it seems to b doin fine ! Thanx
